Some of those things you can’t help but miss, like the walk of your flower girl or the tear in your mother’s eye as you look into each other’s eyes and say your vows. Your attention is often required elsewhere when sweet and unforgettable moments are occurring.

You may be mingling with guests while your parents dance sweetly check to check. Many fun memories are made at cocktail hour, but you will likely be taking pictures with your wedding party and will, unfortunately, miss it.

That may be true, but remember that there are different levels of wedding videography. You may want to hire someone to film only the ceremony, for instance. You shouldn’t be afraid to shop around to find a videographer that will fit in your budget. 

But I am camera shy

Many couples feel this way. They don’t like the idea of having cameras shoved in their faces throughout their wedding day. That fear is completely understandable and relatable.

Keep in mind that most videographers are adept at inconspicuous filmmaking. Ultimately, you know yourself and your comfort level. If you feel your day will be less enjoyable for you with cameras rolling all around, do what is best for you. It is your day, after all.
