Bachelor Farmer

Bachelor Farmer

The Bachelor Farmer is the place to indulge in delightful locally sourced dining in the hip Minneapolis neighborhood of North Loop!  The Bachelor Farmer opened in 2011 and had earned a reputation as a restaurant which approaches dining out as an experience worth savoring.

The story of The Bachelor Farmer began when Eric and Andrew Dayton purchased a historic warehouse in the North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis.  The building was initially constructed in 1881 and expanded in 1902.  Multiple businesses left their mark on the old building over the years.  The Dayton brothers were determined to preserve as much of the historic character of the building as possible when designing The Bachelor Farmer.  The result is a restaurant that fits perfectly into its character-rich downtown location.

The dining experience at The Bachelor Farmer begins with Chef Paul Berglund, the 2016 James Beard Best Midwestern Chef Award winner.  Berglund and his team are committed to providing superior quality, locally sourced food.  The Bachelor Farmer considers freshness so essential that it constructed a rooftop herb and vegetable garden.  Berglund uses these top quality ingredients to prepare exquisite, wholesome fare with a Scandinavian emphasis.  As befits an esteemed and imaginative Chef, Berglund changes the menu on a weekly basis.

Wine lovers are not disappointed at The Bachelor Farmer.  Wines come from sensational independent wineries.  The Bachelor Farmer takes wine so seriously that reviewers have noted their server seemed almost as knowledgeable as a wine sommelier!

The Bachelor Farmer is happy to serve as a venue for special occasions.  They can accommodate groups of up to 60 guests for sit down dining in their upstairs rooms.  Groups larger than 60 are welcome for special events such as receptions and film screenings.  A Private Dining and Events Manager is available to plan and execute an occasion that combines delicious dining in a beautifully restored building with a sense of place within the vibrant downtown Minneapolis neighborhood of North Loop.

The Bachelor Farmer cultivates a reputation as more than just a great place to enjoy a meal.  Indeed, the guest is guaranteed a delicious meal.  However, the little details also matter.  As Armin A. wrote on a TripAdvisor review, “it’s anything but Minnesota mild!  Every dish we ordered is bursting with unique flavor.  This place intertwines European sophistication and farmland humbleness.  The food makes your palates dance.  The service is friendly.”
