With industrial touches like exposed brick, open ductwork, and flowing hardwood, The Day Block Event Center is a historical yet fresh and modern venue for any party, event, wedding ceremony, or reception. The architecture and ambiance of the Day Block Building feature the original 1883 details while chic renovations completed in 2006 make it a comfortable and luxurious space.

Each of the three available rooms (various sizes, seating from 25 to 250 guests) display a full wall of extra large windows flooding the room with natural light and city views. Coupled with the light-toned brick walls and wood features, the Event Center rooms have an open and relaxed feel, ready to be decorated in any colors or stylistic accents of your event. The open layout and clean lines allow for flexibility to create your unique vision (chairs, tables, dance-floor in any area of the room) and also create excellent acoustics for music. A 50 ft balcony on the southeast side of the building overlooks the Minneapolis skyline; providing additional space for taking a breath or taking pictures.

The fresh interior of this venue lends itself to distinct and memorable event photography, with natural light and wall textures such as brick, wood, poured cement, even glass-enclosed original structures creating background interest. Located in the Riverfront District along the Mississippi River, the Day Block Building is also within easy walking distance of historical and modern Minneapolis destinations ideal for portraits, including Gold Medal Park and the Guthrie Theater.

At the Day Block Event Center, all caterers are welcome, but a particular feature of this venue is the option for convenient on-site food and beverage service. Day Block Catering offers full-service or buffet catering and full bar service from Day Block Brewing Company, specializing in craft beers and cocktails as well as organic, locally-sourced brewpub fare. On the first floor of the building, the brewery features a tap room easily reserved for a casual cocktail hour before, during, or after your event.
