Hastings is located about 25 miles southeast of St. Paul on the banks of the Mississippi River in Dakota County.

A local Hastings family owns the Hidden Greens Golf Club and Event Venue. They care about their golfers and event guests and are always very considerate and attentive to everyone.

The event space opened in 2018 and it can accommodate up to 300 guests. The setting is private and secluded, where you and your loved ones can gather and enjoy yourselves without other events going on. Parking is free and ample.

No doubt about it: This venue is a one-stop place. You can gather with your guests, get married, have photos taken, and then host your reception without having to leave the site.

The venue building where you can hold your wedding and reception looks like a cross between a ski chalet and northern Minnesota cabin; it’s quite striking. It’s got a patio, too, where your guests can connect before everything starts and throughout the event.

You can choose to get married outside, and there are places on this site with old growth trees where chairs can be set up. The landscape is a stunning backdrop for wedding photos, too.

The inside is tasteful with natural stone, and there are even rolling glass garage doors that lift up to reveal and give everyone access to the patio. For you, this means that on just the right day with just the right weather, you can have an indoor/outdoor experience on your perfect wedding day.

There’s an ample bar, and plenty of space for dinner tables inside, with lots of windows for natural lighting and an open feel.

You can imagine the Djay playing your favorite songs in one corner with a dance area, limited in size only by the number of tables with which you fill the room.

It’s quite likely that the Swanson family will have recommendations about local photographers or musicians, but this community is close enough to the Twin Cities that any Djay and photographer can come here without problems.

Hastings is a community of 22,000 residents so it’s got a small-town feel and yet, is not so tiny that your guests who arrive in Hastings can’t get whatever they might need.

The town is located on Highway 61 with easy access. If you’ve driven to Red Wing from the Twin Cities, then you’ve driven through Hastings to get there.

Your guests who arrive in town, most likely from the north, will cross the new Hastings Bridge, which is quite lovely when it’s lit up in the evening. On the left side just off the bridge, they’ll see the street leading to an updated downtown riverfront.

There’s a mooring dock near the riverfront for boats as well, so who knows? Perhaps you’ll have some guests who will arrive in boats, check in at a local bed and breakfast, and then take a Lyft to Hidden Greens, which is also is located off Highway 61 about two miles south of the bridge.
