The Minikahda Club was founded in 1898 and, west of the Mississippi, is the oldest country club around. It began when a young group of picnickers were enjoying the area and realized the beauty of the hill that overlooks Lake Calhoun. They put their money together to purchase the land and created the club for golf and social functions. The Minikahda Club today has become a full-service club that offers year-round sports, dining, and social activities.

The vision at The Minikahda Club is to provide a recreational and social experience for members of the club. They strongly value inclusiveness, respect, integrity, fellowship, and family.

If you plan to have an event at The Minikahda Club, there are a few rules you must follow. They have a strict dress code and do not permit baggy or torn pants, any style of blue denim, flip-flops, yoga clothing, tank tops, or shirts without collars. Men should be dressed in traditional attire with slacks that are pressed and fitted, and a dress shirt, sweater, or collared sports shirt. All shirttails should be tucked in. Women should also dress in traditional attire with pants or skirts with an appropriate top or a dress. Any caps that are worn must be turned forward while at the Club and removed when inside a building. Though cell phones are allowed on the property, they should stay on silent and be used for emergencies only.
