Minneapolis Central Library

Minneapolis Central Library

Are you a book lover?  Are you an admirer of architecture?  Even if you aren’t, the Minneapolis Central Library has several spaces to rent out, and that’s cool.  The soaring ceilings, multiple levels, and columns made from recycled materials are impressive and modern.  Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects designed it to be a grand urban library with energy efficient strategies.  A drought-resistant ground cover grows on the roof and makes up an 18,500 square foot roof garden.

Mintahoe Catering and Events handles all the details for your event planning at the Library, and there are five spaces available for you to use.  The main auditorium at Minneapolis Central Library overlooks the Nicollet Mall and can seat up to 235 people.  The Atrium, a stunning and unique space with five stories of solid windows, is available for after-hours events.  Three other smaller meeting rooms are available as well; most come with audio and video equipment.

Mintahoe Catering and Events pride themselves on delicious foods and excellent service and will help to bring the vision you have of your special event to reality.  Minneapolis Central Library is located just a few blocks from the Mississippi River and the parks that sit on its banks.  Shop nearby in the Nicollet Mall, and stay at one of the many Hotels in the area, including The Westin Minneapolis, The Hotel Minneapolis Autograph Collection, and Embassy Suites.

Although there aren’t a ton of reviews out there for events at the Library, the few out there are good.  WeddingWire.com has three out of three five-star ratings.  One reviewer described the space and said “…it’s an amazing space for a wedding because it is so unique and the architecture is so interesting…you get to use a lot of the space. The cocktail reception is held on the second floor. It is also possible to set things up in the conference room on that floor, which provides more space to work with. The main reception – dinner and dancing – takes place downstairs in the main atrium, which then gives guests a chance to explore that area as well… a very memorable, unique, and beautiful place for a wedding reception!”
