Rochester Art Center

Not every bride-to-be is looking for a classic, traditional celebration. However, it can indeed be challenging to find an equally contemporary setting for the festivities.

It seems that many venues find it difficult to offer an elegant setting because, despite the amenities, they are still considered “traditional” venue location types. While many wedding parties prefer this direction, others are not as convinced.

Before giving up entirely, you can still have the metropolitan wedding party that you’ve always wanted. The Rochester Art Center offers a contemporary setting for an authentic downtown experience.

Better still are the two available event spaces, making this a simple decision for tight, intimate ceremonies or a grander audience. Whichever type of ceremony or party you happen to be planning, each room offers an entirely different experience.

The Mayo Clinic Grand Lobby & Wells Fargo Atrium is the larger of the two and is the most “ballroom”-like of the two event spaces. This room plays with the natural lighting that enters through the steep atrium column, as well as powered lighting for a unique ambiance.

Here, there is ample space for nearly any type of configuration. Tables can be set up on one side, while a food buffet, podium, or another kind of arrangement is on the other side.

Conversely, the Executive Conference Room found on the third floor offers an intimate space with picturesque views. In addition to the quiet elegance of the smaller event space, windows that run from the ceiling down to the floor allows for stunning views of both Memorial Park below, as well as the downtown cityscape.

In addition to their unique locale for your event, the art museum also provides onsite photography services. Considering the unique nature of the building, you can capture some stunning and even unexpected photos that are as unique as you and your wedding party want to be.

While they don’t provide any catering themselves, they are a part of the Event & Culinary Catering Alliance. This alliance includes three local culinary and rental services, which are Powers Ventures, Catering by Design, and Söntés Catering & Grand Rounds Brew Pub Catering, all from the downtown.

Although these three services are third-party vendors, the Rochester Art Center has handpicked them for their continued dedication to excellence in service, goods, and for creating elegant experiences for more events. It’s refreshing having catering and rentals limited to a short list for planning purposes.
