Weddings At The Broz

Weddings At The Broz

You’ll find the BROZ event space at 212 Main Street in New Prague. It’s about 50 minutes south of Minneapolis on Highway 13 as you travel through Shakopee and Prior Lake. It’s otherwise 13 miles west of I-35W from the Elko/New Market exit.

BROZ was renovated with brides and grooms in mind who want an all-in-one space for up to 300 guests. The staff have thought of everything.

How many times have brides and bridesmaids had to do their hair, makeup, and dress in one location, and then step outside in the wind and rain to get into and out of a car at the wedding destination?

Not so at BROZ. You can carry everything in, invite the stylists to the site, and use a room to get ready without stepping outdoors. And let’s not forget the groom and his groomsmen. There’s a special room for them as well.

Finally, there’s a hospitality room for family use, which can be a fun spot to connect, tell stories and reminisce.

You can get married at BROZ in a lovely space with old brick walls. And you can pose on a dramatic wrought-iron staircase for your photos.

Another issue that the BROZ venue takes care of is what to do with guests who arrive early and then have nothing to do but stand around and chat. BROZ has a bar as well as outdoor and indoor gathering spaces.

Of course, you might want to limit the drinking before your event lest some forget why they’re in New Prague in the first place!

A Bit of BROZ History

BROZ was made for guests. After all, it was first built as a hotel and has been run as a hotel or restaurant by different owners a few times over since it was first established in 1898 by a Bohemian immigrant. Indeed, if your family has Czech or German heritage, then everyone will feel right at home.

St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church is located on Main Street, too; it’s a quick one-block ride to BROZ from the church. New Prague is a small town with 7,500 residents.

BROZ may be familiar to a lot of Minnesotans. Formerly the Schumacher Inn, it became famous for its European cuisine.  Droves of metro-area diners made a lunchtime or early evening drive to New Prague to enjoy the unique food.

And Speaking of Food!

BROZ works with three caterers, and each has something unique to offer you and your guests.

One caterer prepares farm-to-table organic foods, tapping into local farms, of which there are plenty in this region.

Another caterer specializes in casual barbeque meals; perfect for a more relaxed day where you want people to dress comfortably and be themselves. It may appeal to kids, big time.

A third serves upscale meals that are both impressive and familiar, appealing to guests with a discerning palate. Prime rib, Atlantic salmon, chicken marsala are a few of their items.

If you want a small historic venue where you can get prepped and married, and that was built to make guests feel welcome, and at home, BROZ is an excellent choice for you.
