If you are from the Twin Cities, chances are you’ve heard of Cedarhurst Mansion. It is a popular venue for many different functions from High Teas to corporate meetings or special occasions,  wedding ceremonies and receptions.

Take one cruise through their website photos and videos, and you will see why it is idyllic and beautiful. Who wouldn’t want to have their fairytale wedding on 10 acres of impeccably manicured gardens and lawns? And then there is the historic charm of the century and a half old mansion itself. With 26 rooms, three magnificent fireplaces, marble-columned grand foyer, crystal chandelier ballroom, and gold leafed walls, it is the template of old world charm.

The Neoclassical Greek Revival mansion was once the home of Cordenio and wife Mary Severance. Cordenio was a Minnesota born and bred lawyer who once served as the president of the American Bar Association. His wife Mary was a published author of Indian Legends of Minnesota.

In 1976,  the National Registry of Historic Places added the 12,000 square foot mansion to its list. The Severance’s were known to play host to the upper echelon of elite foreign dignitaries and politicians, including presidents Theodore Roosevelt, William Taft, Warren G. Harding, and Calvin Coolidge. Built-in 1868 the mansion is anything but modest, which you can gather by the stately veranda and its grand columns. It’s no wonder this estate has seen its fair share of celebratory events.

These days, Cedarhurst is a well-known wedding venue. They have, without question, found a reputation for enchanting elegance, high-class table service, and excellent client care. Cedarhurst can accommodate any wedding reception size up to 200 guests indoors, or more if you choose to have a tented venue on the lawn.

Rental of this lovely space includes table and chairs, ceremony setup and breakdown, standard white table linens, China plates, stemware, and flatware for dinner services.
