Does the idea of a romantic rural wedding in a lovingly restored barn make your soul smile? Scenic Escape Barn features a restored big red barn surrounded by acres of Minnesota countryside. The venue rests in the Minnesota River Valley near enchanting Henderson, Minnesota.

Kelly and Ryan Horning moved back to their family farm in  2003 and began restoring the old barn on the property. Throughout the restoration, they were determined to honor the historical details in their barn. Slowly, the owners renovated their beloved barn and enhanced it with the addition of modern amenities.

Kelly was inspired to view her farm as a wedding site after she hosted her sister’s wedding. Scenic Escape Barn celebrated its grand opening in October and will start hosting weddings and other special events in 2018.

A rustic venue that serves as an idyllic setting for weddings and other festive occasions is the result of their hard work. The spacious barn has a charming rural elegance with soaring exposed beams, wood floors, and trolley pull doors.  

The owners strive to make each event at their site a unique and stress-free occasion.  The property seats 275 guests comfortably and includes serene outdoor spaces in addition to the barn.  The bridal party can relax in the on-site salon and bridal room before the ceremony.

Scenic Escape Barn held an Open House and Grand Opening Celebration in October 2017.  The festivities offered local vendors the chance to become familiar with the property.  Multiple off-site vendors are eager to help create your dream event at the Scenic Escape Barn.

While in the area, be sure and spend some time in tiny Henderson, Minnesota and the Minnesota River Valley.  As one of the oldest Minnesota towns, Henderson is famous for its Sauerkraut Days festival each June.  Take a leisurely drive along the Minnesota River Valley National Scenic Byway.  This 287-mile byway rolls through quaint river towns,  farms, vineyards, and waterfalls.
